Question: Will this product break me out?
Answer:
It's really hard to know whether a certain product will break you out because everyone's skin is different. What works for one person may or may not work for another, so until you try the product yourself, you will never really know.
Even though you can't be 100% sure if a product will cause acne, you can improve your odds by following Skinacea's Four Golden Rules. Reading product recommendations, product reviews, and researching product ingredients can also help you avoid poorly received products and ones full of irritating ingredients. These are all ways to help prevent new products from breaking you out.
You also generally want to use "non-comedogenic" skin care, which include products with non-pore clogging ingredients. Keep in mind that "non-comedogenic" does not mean "acne-free." It all boils down to your unique skin and how it reacts to certain products, regardless of how the skin care products are labeled.
The best way to find out if a product will break you out is to use one new product at a time. That way if you do start to break out, you will know what product is doing what. New products should also be used sparingly at first. To be extra safe, it is smart to test the product on a small area of your face first to make sure you have no adverse reactions.
