Question: Do I have to wash my face in the morning?

Answer:

If your skin is either sensitive or extremely dry and cannot tolerate a wash in the morning, then it’s okay to skip it.

However, it’s best to do some kind of light cleansing, even if it's just splashing with water or using a micellar cleanser. This will remove any dead skin cells, oil buildup, sweat, and other pillow grime you’ve accumulated overnight.

If you use any treatment products at night, it's probably a good idea to wash your face in the morning anyway to rinse off any lingering residue. Clean skin will also ensure that any treatment products (or moisturizer or sunscreen) you put on your skin in the morning will penetrate your skin effectively. Makeup application might be a bit smoother as well.

If anything, washing your face in the morning is a refreshing pick-me-up, but it is not a necessity if your skin does fine without it.
